In Memoriam of David S. Mandel

David joined Astor Weiss in 1979 and devoted 47 years of his professional life to the Firm. Over nearly five decades, he helped shape the firm’s growth, reputation, and enduring commitment to serving its clients. For the last 23 years, David served as managing partner, providing steady leadership, thoughtful guidance, and an unwavering commitment to the Firm.

A highly respected attorney, David built a distinguished practice in commercial real estate, corporate law, and business transactions. He advised clients on complex matters with the knowledge, judgment, and practical insight developed over a lifetime in the law.

David’s contributions to the Firm extended far beyond his legal practice. As managing partner, he played an instrumental role in guiding the Firm and preserving the values upon which it was built.

We will remember not only David’s professional accomplishments, but also the years of dedication, leadership, and friendship he shared with those around him.
