Joseph Sheaffer

Joe focuses his practice on personal injury and litigation matters, representing those who have been hurt or injured in any type of accident or event. His work includes automobile accidents, slip and falls, nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and more.

In his representation of his clients, Joe works tirelessly to ensure no stone is left unturned. He understands that his clients are often going through extremely difficult times in their lives, so he strives to make the legal process run smoothly for them while being the strongest advocate possible.

Joe has been working on the Plaintiff's side of litigation since law school. He has represented clients in multiple jurisdictions, including state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. He has successfully won favorable outcomes for his clients at both arbitration and trial.  

Prior to joining Astor Weiss, Joe represented clients when their insurance carriers were improperly withholding benefits. He also gave presentations to other insurer advocates, educating them on best practices to help people with their insurance claims and protect them from insurance companies acting in bad faith against them.

He was selected to the Super Lawyers - Rising Stars list in 2025 as a top-rated attorney in Pennsylvania. He is the member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, where is on committees for State Civil Litigation and LGBTQ Rights. He is also a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Joe is a proud Penn State alum and avid Philadelphia sports fan. He can often be found on walks with his Labrador Retriever, Reggie.
